Mechanical Engineer: Prepare & develop deliverables required in the engineering & design of transmission line facilities. Create construction documents such as plan & profile drawings, structure framing & loading drawings, assembly drawings, structure foundation drawings & construction specifications. Design 3D models of composite and wooden poles using engineering structural analysis software. Perform engineering calculations, engineering and construction estimates, material specifications, project scheduling and client design reviews. Perform finite element analysis to determine bending moment or vertical load applied on the pole and on insulators. Perform structural design modification to the pole if it fails in finite element analysis. Perform engineering analysis to determine which type of pole is suitable to wood or composite pole. Prepare complete cost estimates for Transmission & Distribution projects. Prepare design packages for various distribution line design work including pole replacements equipment and/or hardware replacements, overhead and underground reconductoring.

Job requires: Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering. Must be able to travel temporarily to client sites with expenses paid by the employer and/or relocate throughout United States.

Salary Range: $111,779 - $120,000 a year
